Is Europe the place to get married?

So I’m back after spending over two months in Europe, and yesterday I was telling some friends how enriching that time was. Being half European has shaped my style in many ways, but actually being there and immersing myself in the wedding industry inspired me even more to capture that style, even when I’m not in Europe.

I was doing some research and came across a few interesting numbers:
👉 Europe accounts for 34–38% of the global destination wedding market.
👉 Italy alone welcomes around 11,000 foreign weddings every year.

It’s clear that Europe is playing a huge role in this industry. Now, of course, destination weddings aren’t for everyone. Many couples prefer to celebrate closer to home, surrounded by family, and with the comfort (and cost savings) that brings.

But these numbers also show that thousands of couples each year are choosing to say “I do” in a place that isn’t their own, but feels perfect for them. For many, it’s not just a wedding—it’s an investment in an experience and a memory that lasts a lifetime.

And personally, as a photographer who has been fortunate to travel and capture weddings in three different languages, this excites me more than ever. To witness someone live out such a meaningful and unique moment—outside of what anyone else might expect—is something extraordinary.

Some couples dream of Italy, others of Spain or Greece. They don’t choose these places just because they’re popular, but because beside the person they love most, they’ve been quietly planning and writing these dreams down. And then comes that beautiful moment when the dream finally steps out of the chat and into reality.

I see it happen every year—and it reminds me that yes, it is possible.

So it Europe the place for you? That will be your choice, but for now some reasons to do so.

Turning dreams into reality – That place you’ve always talked about? It can finally become part of your story.
Your wedding and honeymoon in one – Celebrate and then wake up already in your dream destination.

More intimate than imagined – A smaller guest list often means deeper connections and less stress.

So many styles to choose from – Rustic vineyards, chic Paris rooftops, island sunsets… Europe has it all.

Photography magic – Cobblestone streets, golden light, and epic views give you once-in-a-lifetime images.

Freedom to break tradition – Being away from home lets you design a wedding that feels truly yours.
