It’s been one year since I photographed my first destination wedding.
That day, I witnessed the beauty of family, the warmth of friendship, and the beginning of a new story—where a South African-British soul united with a Taiwanese-North American heart.
It opened my eyes to a deeper purpose behind what I do, reminding me why I love this so much.
I’ve been traveling for as long as I can remember. One of my earliest adventures was to Taiwan when I was 12.
Little did I know that 12 years later, at 24, I’d return— to capture the wedding of a dear friend.
I rode a scooter through the winding streets exploring an island, reunited with a friend I hadn’t realized was there, met incredible new people, and even saw a sea turtle that looked just like the one from Finding Nemo.
Even though it’s been a year, I still feel overwhelmed with gratitude—not just for the chance to do what I love, but for the way love was exchanged. I went to give, and somehow received just as much in return. And that is a gift I know can only come from the one who sent me.
To the island of Taiwan—thank you.
And to the beautiful couple who filled that day with blessing after blessing—thank you.
